Most people think of trauma as something acute, obvious, and rare. Perhaps it’s a single terrifying event, or maybe a prolonged period of abuse, that sticks with a person forever. Unfortunately, the true nature of trauma is more complex and prevalent.
We see you working hard to be an effective champion for kids.

Director of Finance and Operations
Meet Kaari. Kaari has been with Psyched before it was officially Psyched Services, helping its founders turn the organization into a reality from January 2017. The company’s resident operations guru, Kaari has more than seven years’ experience, and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in applied mathematics from Texas State University.
Here’s what she’d say about herself:
Best part about working with Psyched: I love the team I work with, and I genuinely care about the success of the company. I love that I can make my own hours, and I’m trusted to take initiative or make decisions.
Core personal values: Integrity and truthfulness – which to me is a “super value.”
What I find most rewarding about my role: When my team is successful. I’ve grown with the company and now oversee a department and a team, and it’s very rewarding when they’re successful and are happy in their jobs.
Most people would be surprised to learn: I’m currently training for a 262-mile river canoe race that starts in San Marcos, TX and ends in the gulf of Mexico: The Texas Water Safari.
Other things I’m Psyched about: Drumming, canoeing, comedy, gardening, sitting on patios and sipping mimosas with live music.
